Finding a clean harbor solution

Cleaning our harbor of bacterial and septic pollution is long overdue; the closures need to stop. Our harbor is often fouled by large amounts of (mostly) Scituate generated septic waste. This harbor pollution can no longer be ignored. Whether Cohasset should join an inter- municipal pact with Scituate or not it is time to move forward to a solution….and Cohasset should not be forced to pay for a Scituate caused problem. Although Scituate says they have plans to treat the waste we are not sure when or how. Our Sewer Commission is already involved in analyzing the details of the pros and cons of various plans. They deserve our thanks. If a joint municipal solution is in Cohasset’s interests then we should first find out the costs and time table then understand any political entanglements. It should then be brought to Town Meeting to let the people decide.
